Ambassador Ross L. Wilson

United States Ambassador speaks out on Section 907

Ambassador Ross L. Wilson is a professional diplomat of many years experience in the Foreign Service of the United States. Most recently he was Principal Deputy to the Ambassador at Large for the New Independent States of the Department of State.

Ambassador Wilson provided the following official statement of the United States Government regarding Section 907 of the Freedom Support Act:

"The United States regards Section 907 as counterproductive to U.S. interests in Azerbaijan. It is unhelpful to our efforts to foster regional peace and diplomacy. Removing 907 will help us achieve regional peace and stability as well as promoting the kind of development it is in our interests to see."
