En Route to New Horizons

St. Maarten, a tourist paradise surrounded by green hills, pristine white sandy beaches and aquamarine seawater offers you a taste of two nations, Dutch and French, under one sky.

St. Maarten is a premier travel destination a well as a hub to the North Eastern Caribbean. Princess Juliana International Airport operating company N.V. is therefore preparing a brand new state of the art passenger terminal building constructed with modern radar equipment and significantly enlarged apron capacity. In 1999 we catered to 1.6 million passengers and no less than 78 schedule and charter flights a day from the Caribbean, Europe, North, Central and South America.

The safety and comfort of our visitors continue to be of the utmost importance to us. To emphasize this we have completedthe first phase of our radar program, a new air-conditioned Immigration waiting lounge, relocated the car rental offices to the terminal building and completely automated the public larking lot. Plans for 2000 include the enlargement of the aircraft parking apron and the expansion of the departure lounge with a new VIP/Business Class lounge.
